Room 5 challenges their parents at Golden Time

For our last Golden Time in Term 2 we decided to challenge the Parents of Room 5 to a dodgeball game followed by a quiz. A couple of the teams managed to beat the parents quiz team however the parents (plus a few Room 3 boys) did beat us in dodgeball. We had so much fun and hope to have a rematch soon.

100 Book Challenge Trip to DIALLED

On Thursday 2nd July Room 5 went to Dialled in Tauranga because we had all read 100 books each in Term 2. Dialled is an indoor trampoline park. We had so much fun jumping on the trampolines, jumping and swinging into the foam pit and playing dodgeball and volleyball. Thank you to our parent helpers for driving us.

Gospel Value

This week's Gospel Value is Tolerance

Tolerance definition
Tolerance is the willingness to accept feelings, habits, or beliefs that are different from your own.

Do whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Sometimes children find it difficult fitting in at school because they are different from their classmates. Sometimes we are unkind these people.

This is Terry.

We said mean things to him and as we did we ripped parts off him. We then apologised to him for the mean things we said and tried putting him back together. However, we couldn’t get him back the way he was before hand.

No matter how hard we try to piece him back together – Terry will not look the same as when we met him for the first time. Although some of the damage has been repaired. Terry will never be exactly the same. His feelings were hurt, and the scars remain. Chances are those scars will never go away.

This is what we are doing to someone when we are mean to them.

Therefore, in Room 5 we are going to make a big effort to be nice to people and only say kind things to each other.
