This week's Gospel Value is Tolerance
Tolerance definition
Tolerance is the willingness to accept feelings, habits, or beliefs that are different from your own.
Do whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Sometimes children find
it difficult fitting in at school because they are different from their
classmates. Sometimes we are unkind these people.
This is Terry.
We said mean things to
him and as we did we ripped parts off him. We then apologised to him for the
mean things we said and tried putting him back together. However, we couldn’t
get him back the way he was before hand.
No matter how hard we try
to piece him back together – Terry will not look the same as when we met him
for the first time. Although some of the
damage has been repaired. Terry will never be exactly the same. His feelings
were hurt, and the scars remain. Chances are those scars will never go away.
This is what we are doing to someone
when we are mean to them.
Therefore, in Room 5 we are going to
make a big effort to be nice to people and only say kind things to each other.
