Room 5 Class Blog

At St Joseph's Catholic School we love sharing the brilliant learning our students are doing. The aim for using a class blog is to bring our classroom to you our parents. With this blog, you will be able to follow Room 5s learning journey throughout the year.  Through our class blogs, our classroom becomes open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for parents and whanau to check out their child's learning. This is great if you are a busy parent who doesn't get into school as often as you'd like. The class blog is also a wonderful way to showcase and celebrate our students' learning to a global audience. On our blog we will post samples of the student's work and photos of their learning. We welcome and encourage positive feedback from parents and family.

Undercover Cody

Today we had a visit from Undercover Cody (the Waikato/BOP cancer society mascot). He taught us about the importance of being safe in the sun.

To be sun-smart we must:
  • Slip on a shirt
  • Slip into some shade
  • Slop on 30+ sunscreen
  • Slap on a hat
  • Wrap on some sunglasses

Bishop Stephen Lowe

Today Bishop Stephen Lowe came to St Joseph's to visit us. He told us about how he became the Bishop of the Hamilton Diocese. He also had a ring, mitre and crozier (staff) with him which we learnt more about. He will be at Mass on Sunday to help some of the Room 5 students make their First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
