Kick It

This term we are participating in 4 kick it sessions.

Kicking is an integral part of many sports. Therefore, we are participating in a variety of core activities based around kicking. This will develop hand-eye coordination between the feet and the brain.

We have been learning to:
  • Kick a soccer ball with the right part of our foot.
  • Dribble the ball between obstacles.
  • Be a team player.

Energy Options

For the next 6 weeks we are lucky to Mrs Maple in our classroom teaching us about energy.

We are learning about how energy can make something happen.
- It moves things
- It heats things up
- It makes things change

Over the next six weeks we will be exploring the different forms of energy.
- Heat energy
- Light energy
- Sound energy
- Electrical energy
- Mechanical energy
- Chemical energy

We have also started to look at the states of energy. For example, potential energy is stored energy and kinetic energy is energy used for moving.

ANZAC Commemoration

This week New Zealanders have been preparing for the 100th year commemoration of our ANZAC's. As part of our learning we have been investigating the history of the ANZAC's.

Today we experienced life as a soldier by building trenches and then hiding out in them while we listened to the sounds of war. We then wrote letters home to our parents letting them know how we felt.
